DEVOTIONAL: Zephaniah 3:17

DEVOTIONAL: Zephaniah 3:17 "The Lord your God  is with you. He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you. He will quiet you with His love. He will rejoice over you with singing." Oh Lord Jesus, our saviour and friend, thank you for always being with us, your children, for never leaving our side, for your omnipresence.  How beautiful is it that You will rejoice over us with gladness, that You, oh Lord make a fuss over us - sinners? Your word says that you will bring your children quietness with your love. Thank you for that experience, for providing peace that the world cannot. You oh Lord quiet the storm.  Your children have no reason to fear, to worry because as Your word says, You have already overcome the world. All we need do is just believe.  So today, lets leave all our storms with the Lord. Let Him work it out. Allow His promises to quiet our hearts. Trust and believe.  Amen.

DEVOTIONAL: Deuteronomy 31:6

DEVOTIONAL: Deuteronomy 31:6 - "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord Your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you." Give thanks to the Lord for never leaving our side. God is constantly fighting battles for us even the ones we do not see. Everyday he protects us from harm. Simple things like getting home safely from work or school are all the works of God's hand and yet so often we take it for-granted. The Word promises that God will never leave our side and because of this we are called to move through life without the burden of fear - how liberating! Go into this day knowing that God's got you. He will fight your enemies for you. You are already victorious because of Him.  Amen,

More Than Childs Play

Oh the 90's, what a time to be alive 😆. Growing up, the term "playdate" was not something I had heard of - fast forward 30 years and millennial moms are confronted with the term by our children, their teachers and other moms. Essentially, playdates are when our preschoolers select or are selected to meet up with a certain friend after school to play. My memories of play as a preschooler include coming home from nursery school and playing with the neighbour's kids - unarranged. Other than that, I suppose the closest thing I had to a play date was a standing arrangement on Tuesdays and Fridays where my bestie and I would meet one day at my house and the other at her Ma's (grandmother's)  house to play - could that have been the birth of the playdate without the naming convention? The internet describes playdates as an arranged agreement for children to meet and play - ah huh that's  what those Tuesday's and Friday's were, sans the actual term! Let...
