DEVOTIONAL: John 14:27

 "I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and heart And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid."

We worry and we are are afraid of many things - we are concerned about our children, the weak economy, we worry about the health and well being of aging parents and are concerned for the state of the world and the future of it,  to mention but a few things. This verse reminds us not to worry or be afraid. It reassures us that God knows what lies ahead for all of us as individuals. 

This world pulls us in various directions, it's one thing after another and it's exhausting. This verse reminds us of Gods gift to us, the gift of peace of mind & heart. He is asking us to trust Him in all circumstances even though it is our nature to worry and try to control the outcome of things we have no control over. 

God never wanted us to be burdened and afraid. He wants us to be free of these things and to place them fully in His capable hands. 

Today let's give Him all that troubles our hearts, take it to Him in prayer and leave it there. Move through the day with peace in our hearts and minds,  knowing that He is in control and is already working everything out in our favour.
