FASHION – What to Wear to a Bachelorette Party as a Guest
It’s June! Before we know it wedding season will be upon us. The bachelorette party is a big deal, it’s fun, flirty and girly but what is the appropriate dress…what to wear is a question I always find myself asking.
There are a few factors to consider when putting together
outfits for a bachelorette.
1.
What the bride says goes
If the bride or the bridesmaids provide information as to what colours to wear or what colours not to wear DO follow suit. It’s courteous and makes things easier for you in that you can narrow down your outfit idea to a certain colour or omit outfit ideas that do not align with the requested colour. Personally, I don’t like to dictate colours but some people have a preference and that’s fine too. It’s also an opportunity to shop for something new, should you not have anything that fits the request ๐. The general rule, just like for a wedding, is not to wear white unless the bride requests this.
2. Themes
If there is a theme, again follow suit. It can be exciting to dress according to a theme and really adds so much fun to the event. It also allows you to step out of your fashion comfort zone.
3. Destination/weekend away
If the girls are making a weekend of the bachelorette or it’s a destination party, it’s a call for multiple outfits – yaaay! Do consider the actual destination you wouldn’t dress the same for the bush and the beach! Remember to check the weather for your destination before packing. Pack according to the weekend’s itinerary, for example will there be lots of walking (a last bar crawl perhaps?) a call for comfortable shoes, dancing – cute outfits, think sparkles and anything flirty. For relaxed activities like spa treatments, mani’s & pedis’s etc. you generally wont need more than a gown and slippers. If there is a pool or beach, pack a cozzie and a sunhat. Know the itinerary and pack accordingly. Buy items that you will wear again – cute and cost efficient!
4. Comfortable but cute
Whether going away for the weekend or out
on the town for a night of dancing, no one wants to be uncomfortable in what
they’re wearing. If heels are not your thing, don’t put yourself through that
pain. You want to be able to have fun with your girls and not worry about taking
a tumble (unless it’s due to too much tequila) or your dress being so short
that you can’t even sit down.
In short:
*Do listen to the bridal party/bride’s
prompts on colour scheme.
*Themes can be a lot of fun.
*Consider the destinations’ weather and the
itinerary when packing.
*Dress comfortably – comfort doesn’t have to equate to boring!
Outfit Inspo:
Be kind, always.
