BEAUTY: Bowing to the new brow?

I’m a girl who grew up in the 90’s – big hair inspired by the 80’s were still a thing, red lips (I’m thinking Cindy Crawford with her signature mole) and smoking cigarettes then too was “cool” (there seems to be a push for this to be cool again – Make. It. Stop.)

Another 90’s signifier are “plucked” eyebrows, remember Pamela Anderson from Bay Watch , now think of her brows (not her other distinguishing body part!) or Britney Spears in her debuting music video.  I’ve received many compliments on my naturally shaped brows, which are full and so never took to the plucking trend. I hailed the Kardashian era which made having fuller brows, well shaped and gelled into place trend. I felt right at home!

Lately, I’ve been noticing a shift back to the skinny brow. Kendall Jenner and Olivia Rodrigo are amongst celebs sporting thinner brows. So, are thin brows making a come-back? Let’s take a look.

According to Teen Vogue, my observations are correct – thin brows are making a comeback in 2026! However, unlike the 90’s over plucked look, the trend now is a more natural looking thin brow. Now girls, let’s not reach for our tweezers just yet because 2026 brows do not require em…now were using an eyebrow gel to sleek them, we’re waxing them into a straight shape, we want to retain a natural looking brow but just thinner. It’s REFINEMENT OVER REMOVAL.

So:

Do hold onto your eyebrow pencil just don’t overfill your brows

Do invest in a good eyebrow gel for sleeking them once you’ve shaped them to a slim shape to suit your face.

Do keep a line in your budget for shaping – be it threading or waxing or a trim. Refinement is the goal.

Remember: Don’t get tweezer happy – this is not the 90’s darl!

  "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." How often as human beings do we feel not good enough, not chosen? How can we feel this way knowing how much God loves us that He sacrificed His Son for us?
