DEVOTIONAL: Romans 12:19

  "Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the scriptures say, 'I will take revenge, I will pay them back', says the Lord" It's so hard to be still when we feel we have been wronged. It's almost natural to want to react. There has always been fierce debate about the death penalty, do we as human beings have the right to take a life of a person who took the life of another. Christianity is clear on this but does it feel fair? It does not, especially for victims and their families. We see how some families though are able to forgive, it's truly incredible and this is God at work.  As Christians, we are guided by Gods Word. It's clear that God wants us to live in peace and leave revenge to Him. It can be hard to "let things go" but we should remember by choosing peace, we are not condoning the wrong done to us or forgetting the pain suffered at the hand of another. DEVOTIONAL: Romans 8:28

  "We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them." Sometimes we set ourselves up for disappointment. We speak about something too soon, we reveal too much of our plan and then feel bad and embarrassed when things don't work out as we had planned. Often we speak out of excitement around people we think we can trust and that's okay but there is power in keeping some things to ourselves and even more power in taking our hearts desires to God in prayer and asking Him to make provision for them in accordance with His will.  When God makes us wait for something, we can find ourselves feeling frustrated and growing impatient because He is not delivering on our time. We feel stuck, we feel that God is not working, that He has forgotten about us. This is furthest from the truth. Our disappointment is often God's appointment! He never stops working and will reveal His perfect plan to...
