DEVOTIONAL: Acts 2:38

 "Peter replied, 'Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the holy spirit.'"

Sometimes life can be difficult, the everyday decision making - we start to question if we've made the right decision, ponder on its consequences (good or bad) that it can lead us to wish there was a handbook on how to do life. The good news - there is! The Bible. The bad news is that the author is demanding and has high standards which can feel unattainable. The great news would be that the author (God, if you didn't know by now😼) is gracious, He understands that we are fallible and is quick to forgive us (sings Justin Bieber Everything Hallelujah). 

We have the Bible which serves as a manual to life. In this scripture, Christians are told to repent of sin, turn to Christ for forgiveness and by so doing accept and fully experience the gift of the Holy Spirit. Having cleansed our hearts we are open to wholly enjoy God's gift of the Holy Spirit, which will then live within us uninhibited. God's grace is new every morning and so we are encouraged to follow these steps as often as we need to because we are sinners, we are fallible and as quickly as God forgives us, we are quick to sin again. 

Today let's pray to be humble enough to repent, to see the value in being baptised in the name of Jesus Christ and to be open to receive the gift that God has given us. Let's also be brave enough to reset as many times as is necessary in order to become the people God called us to be. 

Amen.

DEVOTIONAL: John 3:16

  "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." How often as human beings do we feel not good enough, not chosen? How can we feel this way knowing how much God loves us that He sacrificed His Son for us? Its human nature to feel less than sometimes but as Christians we must remember that we are chosen, that we are good enough and the proof is that God sacrificed His Son for us.  Trying to understand what God did and why He did it from the position of being a parent, it is hard to fathom. Honestly, there is no one for which I would sacrifice my  child for and yet, this is what God did for us. This is what He knew He was going to do from the very beginning and all to save us, sinners.  If this act of God is not enough to show us how much God loves us, how much he cares for us then I don't know what is.  Today, lets remember that we are loved, we are chosen. DEVOTIONAL: Deuteronomy 31:6

DEVOTIONAL: Deuteronomy 31:6 - "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord Your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you." Give thanks to the Lord for never leaving our side. God is constantly fighting battles for us even the ones we do not see. Everyday he protects us from harm. Simple things like getting home safely from work or school are all the works of God's hand and yet so often we take it for-granted. The Word promises that God will never leave our side and because of this we are called to move through life without the burden of fear - how liberating! Go into this day knowing that God's got you. He will fight your enemies for you. You are already victorious because of Him.  Amen,
