DEVOTIONAL: Matthew 11:28

"Then Jesus said: 'come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.'"

It's normal for us to at times feel drained, be it emotionally, physically or both. Sometimes we don't know where or how were going to get the strength to get through the daily tasks we set for ourselves, how we're going to meet work deadlines or the constant demands of life but somehow, we always do, we are still standing despite the challenges we face. The fact that we are able to persevere is no coincidence, it is  purely through the grace of God. He gives us the strength to persevere, to push through even when we are tired and feel we cannot go any further.

This Bible verse reminds us of Jesus's promise to give us rest. All we need do is go to Him with our problems, speak to Him in prayer - sharing our worries and fears with Him. We then need to leave it there, trust Him and believe that He will work it out for us. Simply put, give it to God and go to sleep :)

Today let us be thankful that Jesus offers us refuge. Jesus is offering us peace, He does not want us to worry. He wants us to move forward with peace in our hearts, knowing that He is in control. Let us pray for inner peace for ourselves and our loved ones as well as peace in our beautiful world.

Amen.
