DEVOTIONAL: Psalm 89:15-16

 "Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of Your presence, Lord...They exult in Your righteousness."

How great is it that the Lord of lords, the King of kings invites us to be in and walk in His presence, what an honour that is. We can worship wherever we are. We are not confined to worshipping only on a Sunday in church or only when we get down on our knees to pray - no, God listens to us and wants us to speak to Him and worship in the busyness of our day, at anytime and wherever we are. 

I remember my Uni days, we'd sometimes get a lift with one of my friends mom to the bus stop from where we'd take a bus to campus. That car ride with Aunty Patty was a full on praise and worship session! I look back in awe of her energy at that time of the morning, I remember the pure joy she had - singing her way through the traffic, waving to the people we were passing by, she was 100% filled with the spirit. 

We can praise the Lord from anywhere and in any situation and this is exactly what He wants us to do, what He invites us to do. He says that we will walk in His presence, face to face with Him - what a privilege. 

Today, let us heed the call to worship God and be excited to do so. Let's sing His praises, listen to songs that glorify His name or tell someone the good news of Jesus Christ. 

Amen.

DEVOTIONAL: Philippians 1:6

  "He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ". This Bible verse is special to me, specifically the last part of it but lets start at the beginning.  "He who has begun a good work in you" - God knew us before we entered this world. He had a plan for us from our inception. He has always wanted us to be more like Him and will put challenges and achievements on our path so that we may see His hand and ultimately use it to glorify Him. We were born into purpose and each day we are on this beautiful Earth God is using our life experiences to shape us into the people He has called us to be from the minute He thought the world needed us.  Although God wants us to be like Him, He knows our human nature, that we are fallible and sinful. HOME: PSHB - The ‘Cancer’ of Trees

When we first viewed the house we eventually chose to be our home it was the three beautiful trees on the front lawn that captivated us. Large, beautiful, old trees that would come to provide many a shade on sunny days. I remember the previous owner pleading with me to never cut down the middle one and of course I was agreeable because why would we ever want to cut down such a beautiful tree?!   Enter PSHB… I had never heard of  Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer ( PSHB) until May 2024.
